This young British Band recently caught my attention. If 'School of Rock' had been a real institution, and based in the UK then this group would have had roots in their classrooms. Hailing from The Elliot School (With alumni such as Hot Chip), these young'ins have a unique simplistic approach to music, with a heavy focus on vocalists Romy and Jamie's conversations. Their sound reminds me slightly of a stripped down version of fellow Brit band Sneaker Pimps. Check out a few of my favourites:
Recently saw the xx in Tdot this week. They happened to open for Friendly Fires, another great Brit band. As great as their set was you could definitely tell their age. The 3 piece band rocked out in a shy/introverted style that made you feel like you were a voyeur in a bedroom. (A style, though not accustom to , i thoroughly enjoyed.) Cant wait to check em again come spring.... I'm hoping they wont overcome their bashful insecure performance anxiety, as it is most definitely part of their charm.
